Universal Credit

Reading is now a full service area for Universal Credit. This means that clients making new claims for Income Support, JSA, ESA, Housing Benefit, Child Tax Credit or Working Tax Credit, will now have to apply for UC. This is the biggest change to the benefit system in 40 years! CommuniCare are working closely with DWP, Job Centre Plus, Reading Borough Council and our partner agencies across Reading to understand how the UC process works and to offer the best possible support we can to people applying, particularly the more vulnerable in Reading.
